Recently, on a trip to San Diego, I was able to tour around an area of the city known as Little Italy. With tons of Italian restaurants, clothing boutiques, coffee shops and beautiful residential properties lining the streets, this area provides the perfect backdrop to accompany San Diego's exceptionally nice weather.

I decided to step into an interesting looking establishment called Bolt Brewery. Under normal circumstances, if I venture into a Brewery, it's because I'm tagging along with my husband who's quest for finding local breweries usuaully takes precedence over my quest for finding flea markets, furniture stores, or farmers markets.

But today I was fascinated by this place just from getting a glimpse of the outside of the building. The white exterior walls with black and red lettering and logo were bold enough to catch anyone's attention.

I sat at the bar and was handed a brief but interesting beer list. Having no clue what any of these names meant, I just asked for the lightest beer that they had.

The bartender gave me a sample of two different beers; Mango me crazy and the Finaly Leg-Ale. Both were very tasty, but I decided on the Mango beer. While sipping on my brew, I was able to chat a little with the bartender and one of the owners. I was told that this location on Bolt Brewery had just opened two weeks prior and it is the second location to open. The other location is much larger and is located in La Mesa, which is an area just north of San Diego.

The open air feel was provided by windows that were similar to garage doors in that they could either be opened or closed to provide privacy or complete openness to India street and the tranquil atmosphere of Little Italy. The Interior featured lots of industrial style elements including steel table tops and bar stools, hanging pendant light fixtures and, exposed pipes.

I was given a run-through of the food offerings and was informed that their pizza is a must try made with their own homemade crust. Being that they are located in Little Italy, I would think that the competition amongst pizza is fierce, but they assured me that theirs would stand out and even surpass some the competition.

If you are in San Diego, especially in Little Italy, stop in and have a brew at this fab new joint and tell them Cicely from Urban Spaces and places sent you.
