The emergence of this hip new boutique hotel in the Central Business District of New Orleans is definitely cause for excitement. Not only are tourists able to partake in the upscale amenities but as we found out, the hotel is drawing locals who live and work in the area as well. Housing an ultra-cool, eclectic coffee shop downstairs in the lobby as well as an amazing roof top pool with a cocktail bar, there are many reasons that this hotel is attracting a lot of attention.

The lobby bar contains very interesting decorative elements creating a great vibe for relaxing and enjoying coffee during the day, transitioning into a cool meeting place for happy hour or pre-dinner drinks at night.

More exciting to me was the presence of Stumbtown Coffee Roasters. This is a coffee company based out of Portland, who specialize in coffee roasting and brewing....especially cold brewing. If you are like me and enjoy ice cold coffee, then this trendy

coffee shop will surely satisfy your cold coffee craving.

Yes, You are seeing this correctly.....Cold brewed coffee on tap! Such an innovative concept that fits right in with the hotel's overall hip and trendy theme.

The rooms have a very minimalist style. Pictured here is the retro style refrigerator that contains a variety of interesting local beverages and snacks. Also, there is a surprisingly abundant choice of cocktail mixers and liquors . All of the ingredients for a fancy cocktail, right in your room!

But onward bound we must go to do more exploring of the rest of the hotel. And believe me, there is plenty more to see. The roof top deck on the 9th floor was simply amazing. We got there just as it was opening at 10 am, the perfect time to check it out and take some great photos before the hustle and bustle of the crowds began to arrive. The pool area is open to the public until it reaches capacity. Guests of the hotel get first priority.

The beautifully landscaped pool area provides a fantastic place to relax and take in the scenery. The 360 degree view of downtown is not too shabby either.

The covered bar area offers it's patrons a shaded spot to grab a cocktail or a snack. The menu is limited but interesting consisting of mostly small plates. I do remember seeing hot dogs on the menu though!

Here is the pool in full swing during peak afternoon hours. A perfect gathering spot for locals and tourist to cool off from the hot New Orleans summer time weather.

There are many wonderful things about this new hotel in downtown. I had so much fun exploring and documenting the lovely Ace Hotel.

As I found out, it is not just a hotel, but also a hip place for people to hang out, socialize, eat, drink, listen to live music....and basically just have a good time in a beautiful environment.
